Facilities

The Woodmoor community is served by a central water distribution system and sanitary sewer collection system.

facilityThe water system is supplied by 14 wells and 4 treatment facilities. The wells are located in the Dawson, Denver, and Arapahoe aquifers with the Arapahoe wells requiring treatment for iron and manganese removal. There are two 1 million gallon storage facilities located in the northern and southern part of the District. There are four booster pump stations that are used to facilitate moving the water throughout the distribution system as well as maintaining system pressure.

The distribution system is divided into four pressure zones with 14 pressure reducing stations located between the zones in order to provide relatively constant and manageable pressure throughout the system.

The sanitary sewer collection system is a network of pipelines that gravity-flow from the Woodmoor community to the Tri-Lakes Wastewater Plant. Because of the mountainous terrain, there are six lift stations that pump low-lying areas to high points where the flow can become part of the gravity system.
